Kellie 2 Kellie 4 Jennifer Jennifer 1Although she never went home in the form of an "American Idol" award, Kellie Pickler was one of the most popular alumni from the show. Kellie Pickler was born on the 28th June in 1986 Stanly Memorial Hospital Albemarle. Her parents are Cynthia Morton and Clyde Raymond Pickler. As she got pregnant her mother was already aged 16. The childhood of Pickler was not easy because her father had a relapse to alcohol and drugs when Pickler's mother left her aged only 2. Morton had custody of her for two years. Pickler said that things were unsettling. "I remember that my mother as well as me living in the same room, and I said to her I'd rather die than to be together with you. I wish God took me off.' She pulled out a kitchen knife set it down on the countertop, and I was told, "Here, you do it." I was in fourth grade. It's too bad I didn't act on it. But, it did leave lasting scars on my heart. Pickler was later given to her grandparents after she reached 12 years old. Morton failed to appear during the trial. Pickler was brought up by her grandparents for the rest of her life. She has cited them as the major influence in her life. Faye Pickler, the grandmother who took care of her, died of lung cancer in the year 2001. Her grandfather continued to raise Pickler. Pickler completed her studies at N Stanly High School, located at New London, North Carolina.
